Inverse Compton Scenarios for the TeV Gamma-Ray Emission of the Galactic Centre

چکیده
The intense Compton cooling of ultra-relativistic electrons in the Klein-Nishina regime in radiation dominated environments, such as that found in the Galactic Centre, may result in radically different electron spectra than those produced by Synchrotron cooling. We explore these effects and their impact on the X-ray and γ-ray spectra produced in electron accelerators in this region in comparison to elsewhere in our galaxy. We discuss the broad-band emission expected from the newly discovered pulsar wind nebula G359.95−0.04 and the possible relationship of this X-ray source to the central TeV γ-ray source HESS J1745−290. Finally we discuss the possible relationship of the Galactic Centre INTEGRAL source IGRJ1745.6−2901 to the TeV emission. Subject headings: pulsar wind nebulae: general — pulsar wind nebulae: individual(G 359.95−0.04,

Production of Tev Gamma-radiation in the Vicinity of the Supermassive Black Hole in the Giant Radiogalaxy
Although the giant radiogalaxy M 87 harbors many distinct regions of broad-band nonthermal emission, the recently reported fast variability of TeV γ-rays from M 87 on a timescale of days strongly constrains the range of speculations concerning the possible sites and scenarios of particle acceleration responsible for the observed TeV emission. A natural production site of this radiation is the i...
متن کاملThe Extended Jet In AP Librae As The Source Of The VHE γ-ray Emission
Most modeling attempts of blazars use a small emission zone located close to the central black hole in order to explain the broad-band spectral energy distribution. Here we present a case where additionally to the small region a >kpc-scale jet is required to successfully reproduce the spectrum and especially the TeV emission, namely the low-frequeny peaked BL Lac object AP Librae detected in th...
متن کاملPreliminary Evidence for TeV Gamma Ray Emission from the Galactic Plane using the Milagro Detector
The majority of galactic gamma rays are produced by interaction of cosmic rays with matter or radiation fields. This results in a diffuse radiation concentrated in the galactic plane where the flux of cosmic rays and the density of material (mostly atomic, molecular and ionized hydrogen) is high. The interactions producing gamma rays include the decay of π produced in spallation reactions and i...
متن کاملTeV OBSERVATIONS OF PULSARS AND PLERIONS
The current status of observing TeV gamma rays from galactic objects such as plerions and SNRs is discussed, by summarizing the TeV data added in the Durban Cosmic Ray Conference and the Kruger Workshop. The TeV data has now reached to sensitivity below 10 11 erg cm 2 s 1 . Quantitative comparison with other wavelengths has become available on bright sources, for an example, about the relative ...

Recently, the CANGAROO-II telescope detected diffuse TeV gamma-ray emission from a nearby edge-on starburst galaxy, NGC 253. The emission mechanism is discussed in this report. We review the emissions of radio-to-TeV gamma-rays from NGC 253, and present a model of the non-thermal emissions due to synchrotron radiations and inverse Compton scatterings. A halo model successfully explains the mult...
